BLACK LOCUST
- Deciduous trees or shrubs.
- The locusts are handsome trees and shrubs with bright green
and graceful foliage. Not particular as to the soil and they
do well even in poor sandy soil and dry locations.
- Stands severe pruning well. Trees have become a favorite
street tree for cities, particularly in Europe. Not much is planted
in this country because it is liable to attacks of the borer
and therefore short-lived.
