• Deciduous tall tree with large leaves. Very valuable as park trees and one of the noblest trees of the American forest.
   
• Though many fungi and insects prey on the walnut, none of them does very serious damage.
   
• Grows best in moderately moist, rich soils. Mass. to Florida, west to Minn. and Texas.
   
• Grows to 150 ft.
