CAPULIN CHERRY
- Also known as the tropical cherry, this small
tree comes from Central and South America. It is quite tender,
being hardy to only about 24 degrees F.
- The Capulin Cherry has white flowers. The fruit's skin is
a deep maroon color, with green flesh. It has good flavor, and
can be eaten fresh or in preserves. It can be propagated either
by seeds or grafting, and is currently under study as a crop
plant in Israel and New Zealand.
