ENGLISH MEDLAR * MISPILUS GERMANICUS
- The only recognized species. Small tree,
sometimes only shrub-like.
- Grown to a considerable extent in Europe for its edible fruit,
but little known in this country.
- It is perfectly hardy in central New York, and its cultivation
requires no special treatment or skill.
- Makes a twiggy tough-wooded bush or small tree, bearing large
white blossoms in late May or early June.
- The foliage is soft and luxuriant.
- Grows 10 - 15 ft.
