FRUITLESS OLIVE
- Like the standard fruiting olive, the "Fruitless"
cultivar has narrow, silvery-gray leaves and an interesting gnarled
bark. Prefers full sun and is hardy to 15 degrees F.
- Can be grown in standard form or with multiple trunks. Heavy
pruning can cause the trunk and branches to sunburn and encourages
sucker growth along the branches and from the base of the tree.
- "Fruitless" is a cultivar developed for ornamental
gardens. In spite of its name, it will occasionally fruit, but
not in the quantity found in other olive trees. Very drought
tolerant once established.
- Height 25-35 feet.
