MARBLED BAMBOO
- An excellent hedge plant, the marbled bamboo
has unusual colors in its new shoots. They are pale green, mottled
with brown and silvery white, with pink tips and stripes. In
full sun, the mature culms develop into a deep purple, almost
black, which accounts for its other common name "black bamboo."
- Can be invasive, so keep contained with curbing or other
hardscape. Best transplanted in spring to avoid loss of new plants
due to high heat or soggy, cold soil.
- Hardy to 20 degrees F. Height to 6 feet.
