PEPPERMINT TREE
- An Australian native, the Peppermint Tree
has a willowy habit and leaves that smell like peppermint when
crushed. It freezes to the ground when temperatures drop below
25 degrees F, but will grow back from the trunk.
- Blooms prolifically in summer with small white flowers. Interesting
shaggy red-brown bark. Tolerates heavy soil, wind and high heat.
Requires minimal pruning, but will accept shaping as a patio
or specimen tree. Drought tolerant once established, but should
be irrigated regularly when newly planted.
- Height to 30 feet.
